Dispatches from the front lines of the 2008 general election

Hi everyone. In this 2008 general election, there is so much information - and disinformation, as you have been seeing - and it is coming at us fast. So I decided to set up this "Notes from Jay" weblog to give you the straight scoop.

This election is an important one for those of us in the union building trades. We have a lot at stake. The main thing I'll be doing here is to provide quick updates from the campaign trail about issues that matter to working people and our families.

Sheet Metal Workers Local 20 has sent out a handful of newsletters and campaign information so far this election season, including the Tinners Hammer political newsletter and the Craftsman newspaper, as well as a candidate comparison chart. The international SMWIA also has sent out a video from our general president, Mike Sullivan, that has great insight about your choices for president.

This blog will fill in the gaps, especially as the election looms and we need to get the word out more quickly than printed publications can handle.

Thanks for reading. Come back often to get the straight scoop.

Fraternally,
Jay
